Mimigraphy, led by Tokyo-based photographer Mimi, captures the essence of Japan through a minimalist and aesthetic lens. To align with her artistic vision and elevate her online presence, this project involved crafting a bespoke website that seamlessly showcases her portfolio and resonates with her target audience of travellers seeking refined and memorable experiences.

Mimi desired a website that embodies her minimalist Japanese aesthetic while effectively communicating her expertise in travel photography. The design direction focused on creating a clean and sophisticated layout, using subtle typography and ample white space to let her stunning imagery take centre stage. Functionality was equally important, with a streamlined user experience that makes it easy for potential clients to explore her portfolio and book personalized sessions. The final website reflects Mimi’s artistic sensibility, providing an intuitive and visually cohesive platform that sets her brand apart in a competitive market.

Mimi wanted her logo to be animated for a page loader and that’s what we did! :) The word mark logo is hand drawn by me referencing a customized font to ensure cohesiveness throughout the website while still being authentic and unique.

Within 2 days of launching her website, Mimi has gotten 5 new inquiries! With the launch of her new branding and site, she has also gained the confidence to increase her prices. Her clients gave feedback that they felt Mimi’s website stood out from other local English speaking travel photographers, and her aesthetics was translated well on screen hence leading them to booking her. Moreover, since her prices are transparent and her deliverables are clearly listed on the website, Mimi has saved a lot of time from having to go back and forth explaining and negotiating prices with her prospective clients.
